Tucker Battles Dem: 'Not Every Person With Cyrillic Letters In Their Name Is Working For Putin'
Tucker Carlson debated a Democratic strategist and defense attorney over accusations of treason and other crimes against the Trump administration.
Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) said that Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting was an example of how meeting with any Russian is akin to meeting with Putin because they are all interconnected.
Tucker Carlson called that standard "appalling and stupid."
"Not every person with Cyrillic letters in his name is working for Vladimir Putin," he said.
Attorney Michael Starr Hopkins said that Russian contact on its own is not "problematic" but that "lies" from Trump associates are.
Carlson asked what Hopkins thought of Bill Clinton accepting ten times what Gen. Michael Flynn did when he delivered a speech in Russia.
Carlson said that by Quigley's logic, it would be ten times the crime.
Hopkins later reiterated that he would not go as far as Quigley, but said that Flynn's dishonesty about his Russian meeting makes it worse than Clinton's.
