The much-anticipated meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place moments ago.

Trump and Putin then went on to a private room on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in Hamburg, Germany.

They shared a brief handshake as Trump made a short statement to the press during the photo-op.

They were joined by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and his Kremlin counterpart Sergey Lavrov and two translators.

Trump and Putin also exchanged pleasantries earlier today in advance of the big face-to-face meeting.

Fox News senior White House correspondent John Roberts said he expected a "substantive, business-like" conversation due to the small number of people in the room.

He said he would not be surprised to hear later of "some sort of agreement" when it comes to military options in Syria and battling ISIS.
