Corey Lewandowski: Hypocritical Media Seeks Trump's Friendship in Private, Attacks in Public
Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski slammed what he says is the "hypocrisy of the mainstream media."
The president personally attacked two of his harshest critics, MSNBC's "Morning Joe" hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski Thursday morning, causing face palms by the GOP and general ire against his comments.
Lewandowski reminded "Fox & Friends Weekend" that Brzezinski and Scarborough are long-time friends of the president, but now are attacking him for some reason.
"They're not the only ones," Lewandowski said. He said multiple people in the media seek out Trump's friendship and tell him "he's the greatest," in private but go after him in public for "ratings or for clickbait or for whatever it may be."
'I see it all the time."
Lewandowski said President Trump is still the "counter-puncher" he has always been with respect to the mainstream media.
"The president has not changed," the staunch Trump backer said.
The former campaign manager said that the constant attacks on President Trump show Democrats are "completely rudderless."
For example, the mainstream media won't give him credit for it, but he deserves credit for growing the economy "growing at a rate that nobody expected," he said.
