Former Bush adviser Mercedes Schlapp reacted to statements made by a friend of former FBI Director James Comey about the Trump White House.

Benjamin Wittes said on CNN that he "had no doubt that" Comey regarded Trump administration staff as "dishonorable."

Schlapp said Wittes proved Comey enjoys sitting on his "moral high horse" and creating political drama.

"This is about James Comey trying to salvage his reputation," she said.

Schlapp said Comey is disliked by both sides of the political aisle and is doing whatever he can behind the scenes to remain relevant.
