Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer said that the mainstream media is using "weaponized information" to undermine the Trump presidency.

He said the New York Times was "sloppy" in their reporting of a memo allegedly written by former FBI Director James Comey that said President Trump asked him to end the Michael Flynn probe.

Reading from the Times report, Shaffer said "Neither NBC nor the New York Times has seen the actual memo."

"This is weaponized information," he said. "Facts are facts and everything should be laid out regarding the actual memo."

Shaffer questioned why, if the story was fully accurate, Comey's anonymous associate didn't give Times reporter Michael Schmidt the memo itself.

"This is information warfare," Shaffer said. "The White House is under siege by the media."

Shaffer said White House leaks and stories like this one undermine not only the presidency but America's national security.
