Fmr CIA Officer: Comey Would Have Had 'Much Shorter Shelf Life' With Hillary Clinton
Former CIA Agent Mike Baker said newly-departed FBI Director James Comey would have lasted much less in his old post under a 'President Hillary Clinton.'
Baker said that either way, it should not be surprising to those familiar with the inner workings of Washington that Comey was fired.
But he said the Yonkers, N.Y. native would've had a "much shorter shelf life if Hillary Clinton had won."
Baker said part of President Trump's problems following his decision to fire Comey stem from the White House's lack of regard for "optics."
He said Trump could've handled the firing better.
But, Baker said Comey was stuck in an "untenable situation" where both sides of the aisle did not like him.
Of the names floated to replace Comey, Mike Baker said former New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, who served with Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) in the wake of 9/11, would be an excellent successor.
