Greg Gutfeld kicked off last night's show with his reaction to President Donald Trump spurning the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in favor of a campaign-style rally in Pennsylvania.

Gutfeld praised Trump for skipping the "orgy of preening self-importance" to hold his own event in a state that helped him win the 2016 presidential election.

"He's like the cool outcast at school who tells the snotty, rich kids, 'I don't want to go to your stupid party, I'll throw my own, thank you very much! And I'm going to invite all my friends!'" Gutfeld remarked.

"So President Trump kicked the media's rump," Gutfeld added. "He threw a party, and thousands showed up."

He said the event was a "stroke of brilliance" and the kind of thing only Trump would think to do.

"He's one of a kind, and he's ours," Gutfeld said. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Watch the full monologue above, and see Michelle Malkin blast the "annual narcissism fest" that is the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
