Former Secretary of Education Bill Bennett said DNC Chairman Tom Perez' announcement that Democrats must be pro-choice is going to shrink the Democratic Party.

Perez said that "every Democrat should support a woman's right to choose... that is not negotiable."

He received praise for the comment from many fellow Democrats like Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.).

Bennett said Perez' statement will "make their party smaller and less tolerant."

He called such a blanket statement a "bludgeon" and an "ax" being used to modify the Democrats' platform.

Bennett also criticized Perez' penchant for profanity in public, including when he repeatedly says that President Trump and Republicans "don't give a s--t about people."
