Authors of a new tell-all book about the inner workings of Hillary Clinton's campaign discussed their work in their first television interview.
Amie Parnes and Jonathan Allen, authors of "Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign," revealed several new details about Clinton's campaign on "The First 100 Days."
Allen said that after the Michigan primary, Clinton was confused as to why she lost to populist progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
Their book said the former secretary of state admitted to an aide that she "engender[s] bad reactions from people."
Additionally, campaign manager Robby Mook was said to be looked upon negatively by Clinton allies outside of the campaign operation apparatus.
According to the book, Clinton spoke with President Obama after calling President Trump to concede: "Mr. President, I'm sorry," she said.
Of Trump's shocking win, Parnes said she and her campaign "never saw this coming."
Parnes and Allen also wrote that on election night, Bill Clinton compared Trump's upset victory to 'Brexit.'
