First Lady Melania Trump joined the president, along with their son Barron, to kick off the 139th White House Easter Egg Roll.

President Trump addressed the approximately 21,000 attendees from the Truman Balcony above the South Lawn, thanking his wife and noting she worked very hard on the event to make sure it is "just right."

Mrs. Trump then officially started the event, standing next to a costumed Easter Bunny.

"This is the first time that my husband and I hosting this wonderful tradition. And it's great that you are all with us today. I hope you have a great time with the many activities," she said, also thanking the men and women of the U.S. military.

The president thanked everyone for coming out, vowing that "we will be stronger and bigger and better as a nation than ever before, we are right on track."

Barron, who just turned 11, and the First Lady are getting set to move into the White House this summer. They've continued to reside at Trump Tower in New York City since the inauguration so Barron could finish out the school year at a private school on the Upper West Side.
