Morgan: Trump Showed Press He Isn't Russia's 'Poodle'
Daily Mail editor Piers Morgan said President Trump's response to the gas attack in Syria and Secretary Rex Tillerson's meeting in Moscow prove he is not colluding with the Kremlin.
Morgan also said comparisons of Trump to Adolf Hitler were offensive to those who were harmed by the Nazi regime, besides being irrational.
"He's not a monster... he's a successful businessman [and] a lot of fun," Morgan said.
He called continued claims by members of the media that Trump was colluding with Russian President Vladimir Putin "utterly ridiculous."
Morgan said it was unthinkable that Trump and Putin would team up to stage a gas attack and a cruise missile response just to cover-up their ties, as some in the media proposed.
He added that by Tillerson taking a strong tack during his icy meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Trump administration continued to disprove claims of collusion.
"[This is] very strange behavior for a poodle," Morgan said of Trump. "More of a Rottweiler, right?"
