Players and umpires hit the deck Thursday as a massive swarm of bees invaded the diamond during a Spring Training game.

It happened in the top of the ninth inning of the game between the Padres and Rockies in Arizona.

The bees arrived with just one out to go in the Padres' final exhibition game in Peoria.

No one was stung as the bees ended up briefly congregating around a microphone behind home plate.

Bees showing up at Arizona Spring Training facilities isn't unusual, but the images of the pitcher, batter and umpire laying face down during a game quickly went viral.

"The bees again? Oh my gosh, I've never seen that," the FOX Sports announcer said.
