Conway Questions Travel Ban Ruling: 'Judges Should Not Play Politics'
On "The O'Reilly Factor" tonight, Kellyanne Conway reacted to the latest in the legal battle over President Donald Trump's executive order on immigration.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday unanimously upheld a temporary suspension of Trump's executive order restricting travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations.
Conway, a top Trump advisor, said they are still fully confident in the legal merits of the president's temporary travel ban.
"There's nothing that the 9th Circuit did yesterday that calls into question the president's ability ... to keep the homeland safe, which is precisely his point," Conway said.
She added that one troubling thing about the court's ruling was that it seemed to supplant Trump's judgment about national security with its own.
"We believe that judges should not play politics at all," Conway said.
She pointed out that the three branches of government are separate but equal, and that didn't seem to be the case in this instance.
"If there are politics in any particular judicial decision, then the president and his spokespeople have a right to call that out."
