DC Group Plans to Hand Out Free Marijuana Joints at Inauguration
Be sure to be paying attention at exactly the four minute and 20 seconds mark of Donald Trump's Inauguration Day speech.
And if you're there in person, your sense of smell will likely alert you to what's going on!
DCMJ, an advocacy organization that helped pass the marijuana legalization law in Washington, D.C., has rolled 4,200 marijuana joints and intends to pass those out in Dupont Circle Friday before the inauguration.
The group is then planning to march to the National Mall and light up the joints once Trump's speech hits the "420" mark.
The group's leader, Adam Eidinger, said DCMJ began the planning of this "smoke out" soon after Trump announced Sen. Jeff Sessions as his pick for attorney general. They have been rolling joints for several weeks.
Sessions has been outspoken in his opposition to legalized marijuana but did say during his confirmation hearing last week that disrupting states' legal marijuana markets by enforcing federal marijuana laws could create strain on federal resources.
The organization also said this demonstration is a form of protest against Trump as well.
