On "Special Report" tonight, Vice President-elect Mike Pence had a message for those who are critical of him and President-elect Donald Trump.

Bret Baier noted that dozens of Democrat lawmakers are planning to skip Friday's inauguration, while thousands of protesters are expected to take to the streets.

Pence said that Trump meant what he said during his victory speech on Election Night: "I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans."

He said that Trump is committed to policies that will advance the safety, security, prosperity and opportunity of all U.S. citizens.

"I hope those folks will turn an attentive ear to the president-elect's words in that inaugural address," Pence said. "Give us a chance, because I think they'll see in a President Donald Trump someone who really is going to work every single day to make this country great for every American."
