On "The First 100 Days" tonight, Bill Bennett had some strong words for the Democratic lawmakers who are planning to skip President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Friday.

"Shame on you," Bennett said to Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and at least 30 other Democrats who have stated their intention to skip the event. "They're weakening the institutional process."

He explained that the inauguration isn't just a peaceful transition of power, it's a bipartisan celebration of the peaceful transition of power.

"They're taking themselves out of that," Bennett said. "They are removing themselves from an almost sacred America practice."

He added that Trump is the legitimate president-elect, and there's no question about the validity of his election victory.

"Alabama lost to Clemson," Bennett said. "I don't know any Alabama fans who are walking around saying, 'We didn't lose. It didn't happen. It's not legitimate.' They're saying, 'What should we have done?' They're showing more sense than the Democrats."
