In a brief statement prior to meeting with Gen. Michael Flynn [Ret.] and other advisors at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, President-elect Donald Trump decried Monday's truck attack on a Berlin Christmas market an "attack on humanity".

A reporter questioned Trump about his previous statements regarding restricting Muslim emigration to the United States, and referenced a press release his transition team put out in the wake of the attack on a 'Weihnachtsmarkt' in the capital city.

"It's an attack on humanity and it's got to be stopped," Trump said.

In the earlier press statement, Trump said that ISIS and "other Islamic terrorists continually slaughter Christians in their communities and places of worship as part of their global jihad."

"These terrorists [and] networks must be eradicated from the face of the earth," it read.

Earlier today, German authorities named a 24-year-old Tunisian national as a main suspect.
