A Florida woman arrested for allegedly stealing from needy children has been called a real-life Grinch.

Tammy Strickland, 38, is accused of filing 28 Toys For Tots applications using fictitious names for 28 adults and 136 children earlier this year in an effort to get toys from the organization.

During a news conference on Tuesday, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said putting this Grinch behind behind bars makes his Christmas a very merry Christmas.

“Tammy, you are going someplace. You’re going where we lock up Grinches,” Judd said. “It’s called the county jail or Grinch City.”

"She's just a Grinch. She's the real Grinch. She's the queen of Grinches. She's the Grinch's delight," Judd added. "We're excited she's in jail. It makes my Christmas a merry Christmas."
