Quick-Thinking Boy Helps Save Mother, Dog From Icy Lake

Dramatic dash cam footage shows a Georgia police officer saving a 10-year-old boy's life.

As seen Tuesday on "America's Newsroom," Bulloch County Sgt. Rey Rodriguez responded to the scene of an ATV accident and realized the boy was pinned by the neck under the overturned vehicle.

He successfully flipped the ATV by attaching a tow strap to his police car, according to the Statesboro Herald. The child was then airlifted to the hospital but only suffered scratches and bruises thanks to the swift action by Rodriguez.

For his efforts, Rodriguez received the Lifesaving Medal from the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
