Obama: We Have Not Overcome Legacy of Slavery, Jim Crow, Racism
In an interview with comedian Trevor Noah, President Obama said that race continues to be a powerful factor in many elements of Americans' lives.
"We have by no means overcome the legacies of slavery and Jim Crow [laws], Colonialism and racism. But, the progress we've made has been real and extraordinary."
Sean Hannity fired back at the commander-in-chief, saying he "resented" every time the Democratic Party uses the "race card" during the election season.
Rev. Darrell Scott, a Trump supporter, said the black community felt "disconnected" by the government during the present administration.
NFL legend Jim Brown said that President-elect Donald Trump realizes that with better education and crime-fighting policies, "we can get on the right track" in the inner cities.
"I'm confident he's going to follow up--he's not a phony."
