On "Special Report" tonight, Charles Krauthammer said that President Obama appears to be in denial about the Democratic Party's loss in the 2016 election.

He explained that in a news conference on Monday, Obama tried to distance himself from the defeat and place the blame on Hillary Clinton and the Democrats who were on the ballot.

Krauthammer said that Obama fails to see that Donald Trump's victory was a complete and total rejection of his policies and ideology by the American people.

"Historians are going to see him as a textbook definition of a guy who won on hope and change, who won with a wave of good will, and who completely destroyed his presidency with liberal overreach," Krauthammer said.

"Unless the Democrats understand that, if they go left to a Sanders or a Warren in the future, they are not going to survive as a party."
