Trump After Election Victory: 'It Is Time for Us to Come Together'

Stunned Democrats React to Trump's Presidential Election Victory

Howard Kurtz believes that the negative media coverage Donald Trump received throughout the 2016 campaign actually helped him win the presidency.

On "America's Newsroom" today, Kurtz said there's no question that Trump had ten times more negative press than Hillary Clinton throughout the general election process.

"Trump not only fought back against that, I think he benefited from it," Kurtz said. "A lot of the people who support him or are inclined to support him despise the media, see us, collectively part of the establishment, and he was fighting against us. He was fighting for them."

He added that many people on the left are railing against the media, because they can't come to grips with the fact that Trump won the election fair and square.

"So, you look for scapegoats, and for some, it's the press."
