Randy Travis stunned the crowd during his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday night by singing “Amazing Grace.”

The country music legend suffered a life-threatening stroke in 2013, which robbed him of his distinctive voice and ability to walk.

At the ceremony, Mary Davis-Travis, his wife, spoke about the numerous procedures and surgeries to save his life, a six-month stay in the hospital and years of therapy to rehabilitate his speech and mobility.

"Randy stared death in the face, but death blinked," Davis-Travis said. "Today God's proof of a miracle stands before you."
