Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), one of the first members of Congress to endorse Hillary Clinton, joined Chris Wallace to discuss the New York Times report regarding Donald Trump's 1995 tax return.
"If you look at the way Donald Trump has conducted business, he crashes businesses into bankruptcy, leaving scores of businesses unpaid," McCaskill said on Fox News Sunday, "but he walks away unscathed...with a golden ticket that...allows him to avoid taxes for decades."
The report did not declare whether or not Trump used the 1995 declaration to avoid taxes for 18 years, only that it allowed for the legal avenue to do so.
Wallace followed up by asking the Missouri senator whether she knew "anyone who pays more taxes than they have to."
McCaskill said that sentiment was "not the point."
"His idea of fixing the tax code is to take care of billionaires," she said.
"He doesn't care about small businesses he didn't pay...he only cares about 'Donald'."
