In the wake of the shooting in Dallas that left five police officers dead, we've seen some amazing tributes, from the gift of an American flag to a powerful mural.

Now, a sand sculptor has created his own touching tribute to fallen officers.

Artist Joaquin Cortez spent nearly two weeks creating the impressive sculpture, Fox 7 reported.

It features an incredibly lifelike bald eagle holding the Dallas Police Department seal, along with the names of the slain officers.

The sculpture, which was crafted out of 10 cubic yards of sand and which stands more than six feet tall, was built outside a pharmacy in Mansfield, Texas.

Cortez said he wanted to do his part to honor the officers and inspire the community.

“I’m also working on my craft. I started this two years ago. I'm learning as I go. It's kind of like putting a puzzle together," he told Fox 7.
