Anti-police protesters gathered in New York City's City Hall Park Monday, calling for the NYPD to be abolished, Commissioner Bill Bratton to be fired and reparations to be paid to victims of police brutality.

About 200 supporters of Millions March NYC, which shares some goals with Black Lives Matter, "occupied" the park for more than 12 hours, holding signs that read, "No cop zone" and "We see police get away with murder."

The group did not follow through on their vow to remain in the park overnight, but they promised to return when it reopened in the morning.

“We’re not interested in having any closed-door discussions with politicians. We invite them to come to the park and speak to the community,” one member, Nabil Hassein, told The New York Post.
