Ohio Gov. John Kasich will suspend his presidential campaign, Fox News has confirmed.

The governor is slated to speak from Ohio at 5:00pm ET to make the official announcement, but he's not expected to make an endorsement.

After winning a decisive victory in Indiana on Tuesday, Donald Trump was declared the presumptive nominee by the RNC.

Sen. Ted Cruz ended his bid for the White House last night.

Kasich had planned to stay in the race until the GOP convention, believing Trump would not secure enough delegates to win on the first ballot.

Kasich was only able to win his home state of Ohio during the nominating process.

Late last night, the Kasich campaign sent a fundraising email declaring it was "up to us" to stop Trump.

Sources told Fox News that Kasich was about to fly to Virginia for a scheduled appearance but changed his mind and convened a meeting with senior staffers.
