Ted Cruz announced that if he wins the GOP nomination, Carly Fiorina will be his VP pick.

Donald Trump took to Twitter to respond after the news was confirmed by Fox News and other outlets, and just before Cruz made it official in Indiana.

Trump shared video of a TV appearance by Fiorina - from when she was running for president - in which she criticized the Texas senator.

"Ted Cruz is just like any other politician. He says whatever he needs to say to get elected," Fiorina said in the interview.

Trump addressed the Cruz-Fiorina ticket in a town hall event with Greta Van Susteren in Indiana later on Wednesday night.

"I think it's really a waste of time, honestly," said Trump, adding that if he wins Indiana on Tuesday, "we're gonna make America great again [and] get rid of these politicians."

Earlier today, Trump delivered a major foreign policy address in which he called for a new "rational" approach that puts America first.
