This server at a Cinco De Mayo Mexican Grill made heads turn on Sunday with his unexpected act of kindness – but he says he was just doing what anyone in his place would have done.

When a man without hands settled into a booth of the restaurant in Douglasville, Georgia, 22-year-old Alex Ruiz overheard him asking for help with his meal.

The waiter then did something that is being shared by thousands of people online.

He plopped down across from the man, and with a sweet smile, helped him with his meal for more than 30 minutes.

Reginald Widener was sitting at the bar when he spotted what was going on. He snapped a picture of the scene, saying it reminded him that there are still good people in the world.

“This seriously hit me right in the soul,” he wrote.

“Southern hospitality is real down here,” Widener told CBS News. “People do kind things all the time that's above and beyond what normally happens.”
