Police in Jerusalem say more than a dozen people were injured today in a bus explosion.

Authorities are now saying that the explosion and fire was the result of an explosive device.

FoxNews.com reported:

Some of the wounds appeared to have come from nails and screws, according to medics. Investigators told multiple news agencies the bus was empty at the time, and that the people hurt were on a nearby bus.

The blast comes as jittery Israelis prepare for the Passover holiday amid a wave of Palestinian attacks, mostly stabbings. Over the last seven months 28 Israelis and two Americans have been killed in Palestinian attacks, while at least 189 Palestinians have been killed. Israel says most of the dead were attackers, with the rest killed in clashes with troops.
