In a Hannity interview that will air tonight on Fox News, Sen. Ted Cruz hit back at Donald Trump's claims that the GOP nominating process is "rigged."

Trump has repeated the claim all week, including in a sit-down with Sean Hannity in Pittsburgh, after Colorado awarded all 37 delegates to Cruz in a state convention.

At an event in Binghamton, Cruz said the Republican process is set up in accordance with the Constitution, which gives the authority to each state. He called out Trump for seemingly not bothering to figure out each state's system in advance.

"That's the way it's been the entire history of the country. And I've got to say it ain't rocket science. If anyone is running an effective and competent presidential campaign they ought to be able to figure out how to go and win an election," said Cruz.

He added that the Republican nomination has been decided this way since 1860.

"If you can’t get a majority of the delegates to support you, you ain’t gonna be the nominee and you ain’t gonna be the president," said Cruz.
