Homeless Man Walks Into Restaurant to Ask for Money, Gets Job

A Florida ministries employee was closing up shop one day when he stumbled upon some trash bags lying outside.

He thought it was just garbage at first, or maybe a left-behind donation.

But as he looked closer, Mark Purcell realized a seven-month-old baby and a 2-year-old toddler were huddled among the bags.

They were brothers, Purcell later learned, from a family that was homeless and living in a tent.

“They were only in diapers, no clothes,” he told Fox 13.

One night, Pastor Ronnie Stewart of a partnering church asked if he could take the children home to clean them up.

“They never knew that one night would turn into five months,” Fox 13 reported.

The boys’ parents later asked the couple if they would consider taking their children in – or risk being taken by social services.

“We just looked at each other and knew, there was no other option,” said Pastor Stewart’s wife, Krystal. “Of course we said yes.”
