Donald Trump appeared on "Fox and Friends" this morning to weigh in on the state of the 2016 presidential race.
Trump reacted to reports that Republican Party elites are scrambling to find a way to deny him the GOP nomination, saying that would be unfair to the American people.
If you're leading the race but don't get to the magic number of 1,237 delegates, do you think it's wrong to have a contested Republican National Convention? Brian Kilmeade asked.
Trump said that would indeed be wrong and unfair, stating that the candidate who is leading at that time should get the nomination.
"That's the way democracy works," Trump said. "I don't know that that's going to happen, but I'll tell you there will be a lot of people [who] will be very upset if that doesn't happen, because we have really fervent, wonderful people."
"I think that would be pretty unfair."
