Ainsley Earhardt has been named the new co-host of Fox and Friends, Fox News Channel has just announced.

Earhardt will make her debut alongside Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade on February 29 at 6:00am ET.

“Ainsley’s relentless work ethic, congeniality and enthusiasm for connecting with our viewers and staff are extremely refreshing. She’s a superb team player and an excellent on-air host – we look forward to her joining the show during such a pivotal news year," Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of Fox News, said in a statement today.

Earhardt will take over the hosting duties following the December departure of Elisabeth Hasselbeck from the top-rated cable news morning show.

Earhardt began her career at FNC in 2007 as a correspondent and most recently served as co-host of Fox & Friends First, which airs weekdays on Fox News Channel at 5:00am ET. 

The South Carolina native and her husband, Will, recently welcomed a daughter. Ainsley stopped by the curvy couch with little Hayden in December.
