A woman is giving thanks to the West Virginia National Guard for picking up her father-in-law in the heavy snow and taking him to dialysis, she says.

“I just want to take the time to thank the National Guard in Summersville, WV for coming to pick up my father-in-law and take him to dialysis this afternoon and for bringing him back when it is completed,” Brandy Schultheis wrote on Sunday.

“You guys rock!”

Schultheis included a photograph of the soldiers helping her father-in-law down a snowy slope in the cold.

That touching tribute has now picked up tens of thousands of shares on Facebook, including one from the official West Virginia National Guard page.

“This is what it’s all about!” they wrote.
