After President Obama appeared on the reality television show "Running Wild," actor David Spade had some words of criticism.

"A president should have a little more dignity," Spade told TMZ in December. "I realize Woodrow Wilson went on 'Dancing with the Stars' once. But what president does reality shows? It just sounds weird to me, you know what I mean? It’s just too much."

Spade explained to Bill O'Reilly tonight that he's not a political comedian, and he usually tries to avoid the topic.

"I got so much hate," Spade said. "I'm just being funny ... goofing around."

He said he was just stating that he doesn't believe that someone in such an important, elevated office should be appearing on a reality show.

O'Reilly pointed out that Spade - along with other "Saturday Night Live" alums like Dennis Miller, Adam Sandler and Norm MacDonald - has become more conservative as he's grown older.

"I think my mom said, 'When you're younger, you're Democrat. When you get older, you get Republican,'" Spade said. "Republicans get a bad rap."
