A man in Washington built a wooded wonderland for his 6-year-old daughter, and the photos will blow you away.

Rob recently shared the fruit of his labor with viewers online, and has been stacking praise since.

“My daughter wanted a fairy tree in her room that she could sit inside and read books, climb the branches, and also have a top sitting area,” he explained on community website apartmenttherapy.com.

“I'm a professional video game artist and make virtual worlds for a living, so while I thought I could come up with the aesthetic idea, I was kind of un-prepared for the physical realities of this project.”

Rob says he decided to look to Disney movie sets as his inspiration. The whole thing, including materials and renovations, cost about $4,000.

The dad writes that he used weekends and nights over the course of 18 months to work on the project. Overall, it added up to around 350 hours, he estimated.

In the gallery posted above, Rob details the entire painstaking process, from building “knot hole fairy windows” to putting in dimmable night lights.

Seeing his daughter Lia’s reaction, it all paid off, he added.

“It turned out pretty well, and she’s so happy in her new room!”
