Things Are Starting to Get Ugly Between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders
Things are starting to get ugly between the campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders, Ed Henry explained today on The Real Story.
Supporters of the former First Lady are now calling out Sanders' socialist views and arguing that he cannot win in November.
A new poll on Tuesday showed Sanders with a commanding lead - 60% to 33% - on Clinton in New Hampshire.
Henry said the Clinton camp is dismissing the CNN-WMUR poll as an "outlier," though other NH polls have still shown Sanders to have a double-digit lead.
Henry said poll after poll also show a very close race in Iowa.
On the heels of the poll, a high-profile Clinton surrogate said on Bloomberg that Sanders is not a Democrat, but rather a socialist with a lot of "wack-a-doodle" ideas.
David Brock, who runs a pro-Clinton Super PAC, called Sanders "unelectable" against a Republican.
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) said Republicans "can't wait to run an ad with a hammer and sickle" if Sanders gets the nomination.
Henry said these are the same things the Clinton camp said in 2008 when Barack Obama started to surpass Clinton in the polls.
