Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin officially endorsed Donald Trump tonight at a campaign event in Ames, Iowa.

"I’m here to support the next president of the United States," Palin said to a raucous crowd of Trump supporters.

Palin explained that America is ready for a change and Trump is the candidate who is "ready to Make America Great Again."

She cited Trump's qualifications and his readiness to be commander-in-chief, while blasting President Obama.

“We are ready for a change," Palin stated. "We are ready, and our troops deserve the best ... I believe that you're ready to see that our vets are treated better than illegal immigrants are in this country."

"God bless you, God bless the United States of America and our next president of the United States: Donald J. Trump!"
