Bristol Palin Slams Ted Cruz, Says Mom Should 'Endorse Trump'

Trump Goes After Cruz: 'Everybody Hates Him, He Won't Get Any Deals Done'

Sarah Palin is officially endorsing Donald Trump for president.

The endorsement, which serves as a highly-anticipated flashpoint of tensions between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, was announced this afternoon by Trump’s campaign.

"I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States of America,” Palin said in a statement.

Trump, for his part, said, “I am greatly honored to receive Sarah’s endorsement.”

“She is a friend, and a high quality person whom I have great respect for. I am proud to have her support.”

The announcement comes just hours after Sarah’s daughter Bristol released a scathing critique of Cruz, accusing the Texas senator of turning against the former Alaska governor when “she’s stood by you when others haven’t.”

“After hearing what Cruz is now saying about my mom, in a negative knee-jerk reaction, makes me hope my mom does endorse Trump,” Bristol wrote in a blog post.

Trump’s campaign says that Palin will now join him at events in Norwalk, Iowa and Tulsa, Oklahoma tomorrow.
