A new pair of polls showed a shake-up in the GOP presidential race seven weeks ahead of the caucuses in Iowa, as Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) overtook Donald Trump for top spot.

The latest Fox News poll has Cruz with a 2-point lead over Trump...

...while the Texas senator has a 10-point lead over the billionaire businessman in the latest Des Moines Register poll.

GOP caucus-goers who identify as “very” conservative, as well as white evangelical Christians, helped propel Cruz to the top, according to Fox News polling data.

On "Sunday Morning Futures," former CBO Director Doug Holtz-Eakin said the Des Moines register poll is "important," as the poll has proven highly accurate in the past.

Former Reagan Advisor Ed Rollins said he thinks Cruz is going to take Iowa and that momentum will help carry him in Southern states.
