Fox News Obtains Photos of Bergdahl from Right Before He Left Unit
Fox News chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge reported today on new photos that show Bowe Bergdahl shortly before he left his Army unit in Afghanistan.
In a new interview broadcast by the "Serial" podcast, Bergdahl says he abandoned his unit in 2009 because he wanted to expose "leadership failure," feeling that the unit was "in danger of something seriously going wrong"
Bergdahl also said he had a "fantastic idea" that he could do something like fictional movie character Jason Bourne.
“You know, that I could be what it is that all those guys out there that go to the movies and watch those movies, they all want to be that, but I wanted to prove that I was that," he said.
But Herridge pointed out that in the photos he left behind to his platoon mate, Bergdahl appears relaxed and mostly stress-free.
The images show Bergdahl as he works with fellow soldiers, poses with livestock, feeds an MRE to a feral cat, and poses for an out-of-focus selfie.
