A pro-gun politician's Christmas card-style photo featured the whole family, including a five-year-old boy, holding firearms.

The photo, which was part of a Second Amendment-themed calendar from Republican Las Vegas Assemblywoman Michele Fiore, came with the message: "It's up to Americans to protect America. We're just your ordinary American family. With love and liberty."

But it's been getting some mixed reviews on social media, with one Facebook user saying the card is "obscene, offensive, and not very festive."

Fiore said she's gotten positive feedback from all over the world, but the negative comments have been "the most vile and insulting comments I've ever read against myself and my family."

She said she doesn't know why people were opposed to the photo, saying that Christmas is a "family affair" and that firearms make great gifts.

"And because Christmas is a family affair, our ultimate responsibility is to protect and make sure our family is safe," she said.
