New Security Concerns After Syrian Refugees Reach Texas Border
Casey Stegall reported on "America's Newsroom" on the security concerns about ISIS potentially infiltrating the United States by mixing in with refugees.
Five Syrian refugees, including two men, made it to the border town of Laredo, Texas last week, then voluntarily turned themselves in to border agents to formally seek asylum.
Additionally, five more Syrian refugees reached the border near Laredo and turned themselves in.
The refugees are being held while extensive background checks are performed and then will be turned over to ICE custody.
Texas is one of the many states that have refused to accept Syrian refugees following the Paris terror attacks by ISIS.
A group of armed protesters even showed up this weekend outside a Dallas-area mosque.
There was a large police presence on the scene, but no violence or arrests occurred, Stegall said.
