A wedding photographer's impassioned plea for wedding guests to put away their smartphones during ceremonies has struck a chord.

Thomas Stewart said he's "had enough" with out-of-control phone-photography at ceremonies.

He's asking brides and grooms to "please have a completely unplugged wedding ceremony."

Stewart posted a photo of a groom leaning around a cluster of people holding phones in front of their faces.

Stewart counted off the reasons why guests should leave the photography to professionals like himself.

Last but foremost was that it taints the experience for the bride and groom, who want to see the faces of loved ones sharing their happiness in the moment, and not a sea of phones.

The post went viral, being shared 26,000 times in a day.
