The mother of a police officer slain this year went "On the Record," saying politicians aren't doing enough to emphasize that blue lives matter.

Irene Moore's son, Detective Brian Moore, was one of four NYPD officers killed in the past 11 months.

She recently wrote an emotional op-ed calling on political leaders to step up and do something about violence aimed at police.

Moore said she noticed a change in climate toward officers in the past two years.

She said that, since the recent officer murders, elected officials have not been showing support to police and letting the public know "they aren't going to tolerate a lot of what's going on now."

Moore also said that the public's perception that officers hands are tied with policies like stop-question-frisk has fed an atmosphere of lawlessness.
