Donald Trump was on “Fox and Friends” this morning to discuss some of the tense moments with his fellow Republican candidates at last night’s debate.

Trump wasted no time taking a shot at Rand Paul last night, remarking that he “shouldn’t even be on this stage.”

“I did hit him hard, and I felt like I had to, and frankly, after that, we got along very well,” Trump told the hosts of “Fox and Friends.”

He also weighed in on Jeb Bush’s defense of his brother’s presidency.

“There’s one thing I know for sure – he kept us safe,” Bush said at yesterday’s debate.

“It was a very good line,” Trump admitted.

The GOP front runner said that the tense moments onstage didn’t carry over into the commercial breaks.

“We were tough on each other and yet there wasn’t a lot of tension during the breaks,” he said of his fellow Republicans.

He also remarked that CNN’s debate was too long.

“'Gone with the Wind' is 3 hours and 20 minutes, right, and that’s a super long movie,” he said.
