An Alabama church is now armed with both God and guns.

Rocky Mount United Methodist Church in Jemison has turned an empty lot into a shooting range for its parishioners.

While it was originally intended to teach firearm safety to churchgoers, the gun range ministry is now attracting outsiders.

“This is an opportunity for us to reach out to others in the name of Jesus Christ in a setting that is completely unique, even odd by some people’s standards. But who’s to say that church can’t happen right here,” Pastor Philip Guin said.

The local police department also uses the range for training.
