Andrea Tantaros today charged President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party with “taking the side of criminals instead of having the backs of cops.”

The “Outnumbered” co-host's remarks came on the heels of crime surges in cities across the United States.

In Baltimore, nearly a dozen federal agents joined the police department’s homicide unit after 45 people were killed last month, breaking a Baltimore record set in 1972.

Five people were shot in Brooklyn this morning in addition to 22 shootings in New York City over the past weekend. There has been a 10 percent rise in murders in New York City through July 27, compared to the same timeframe in 2014.

Tantaros warned that New York seems to be on a “high speed coaster” back to the 1970s, which was a period of high crime for Manhattan.
