Don't miss the Fox News-Facebook Republican debate, Thursday August 6, live from Cleveland, Ohio at 9p ET, moderated by Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier and Chris Wallace.

Donald Trump spoke with Eric Bolling today in a wide-ranging interview about the 2016 election, illegal immigration, America's veterans and his GOP rivals.

The 2016 Republican presidential candidate explained to Bolling why he thinks he is doing so well in the polls.

"One of the reasons I'm doing so well in the polls, nobody is going to tell me what to do. I'm not going to have the donors, the special interests, the lobbyists tell me what to do," he stated. "I don't need their money. I'm not running with their money."

He added that he doesn't want money from people and that he just wants to do "what's right for the country."

Trump also said that if he's president, he will take care of America's veterans.

"Our vets are treated horribly. Our vets are treated like third-class citizens," he said. "Our vets will be treated properly with Donald Trump ... The vets are special, and we have to take care of them."
